The 25th anniversary issue of Threads is out and they did a great write up about the Getta Grip Sewing Clips! It’s on page 17 in a section about notions. It’s also my 1st ad in Threads which is on page 86, what a great stroke of timing and luck. I’d sent a press kit about the clips months ago and it ended up in good hands. I’m so excited and grateful to everyone who helped this happen!

I’ll be filming “Power Sewing” with Sandra Betzina and Ron next week for 2 days, that will be great fun. Then I’ll be doing the sewing festival on the weekend of the 16th. Hope to see you there!

Sandra Betzina has a new book coming out this fall called The Power Sewing Toolbox and the clips are featured in there as well. She called today about having me on her show as a guest! We had such a great time at Maker Faire this year! Kimo, Never, Babs, Adrienne, Silvana and Leo made it all run smoothly.
So many people got the clips and we all worked hard together and had alot of fun, ate great food and saw Amazing Creativity:it was sensory overload really…..super Muy Bueno! Surprise visit from Marta too who blew in from Mexico.
It’s been a year since I debuted my samples for public opinion at Maker Faire and many people remembered from last year and were really supportive. I want to Thank all of the new clip using seamsters out there for liking my invention and I want to Thank all of the people who got me to this point in the adventure called “Let’s bring sewing clips from our classroom out into the world.” It takes a village to raise a sewing clip…..

I’ll be doing demonstrations and selling Clips in the big Inventor’s Hanger at this year’s Maker Faire! I debuted the clip last year in sample form and now I’ve got them produced and ready to sell. I’ll be in the booth with Kimo of Effie’s Heart, the line of clothing for women I illustrate artwork and textiles for! We always have fun when we do shows together and the Faire is full of so many people with incredible ideas and new products. Come and be a part of the sewing revolution! The clips are selling in many places now and people Love them! I’m so excited to be on Sandra Betzina’s website PowerSewing and she is putting the clips in her new book. Amazing! I’m working with Britex, Cliff’s and Stone Mountain and Daughter to get the clips available through them.
This weekend I’m doing Betty’s Cash & Carry Market in the mission which is going to be really fun: great food, music, drinks and lots of local entrepreneurial work too. I’ll be selling clips and doing demonstrations so come by if you can on Saturday from 12-6. It has been nearly 2 years since this began but my beautiful clips are in my office! The site designed by Tyler Benari is open and clips are for sale. We are still working on finite details but at least we have the clips and I’m beyond excited. Exhausted and excited. Frustrated and feeling free- it’s a roller coaster of emotion to say the least. The clips are here! I’ll be getting them out of customs on friday or tuesday depending on how fast they are unloaded. I just got back from LA where my brother the Super Pro made a new video for them. See it on YouTube under Paul Gallo or on my facebook page under Paul Gallo, San Francisco. This blog won’t take the file at the moment but we’re trying to convert it. How amazing this is! I want to express gratitude to all the people who helped make this project a reality. It takes a village to raise a sewing clip and I’m fortunate to be surrounded by talent and love!

Production is done! They are packing the boxes now to be sent across the Pacific and I’ll have my clips the 1st week of February!!!! I’m so happy and grateful to everyone who has made this happen. I’m really anxious to get these out to everyone who loves to sew and create. My office and website are near completion and the Launch Party is next…..YEAH!

Turns out our factory in China that makes our Effie’s Heart clothing line could help us with the Clip project after U.S. production fell through. The samples are great and our new packaging rocks! They’re being put together now and I’m working with Customs to get them from Shanghai to my SF office. What an experience this has been……Amazing adventure in business and creativity. I’ll begin 2010 with a product I’ve been dreaming of since the turn of the century. Thank You to everyone who has helped this idea come to Life!
